C/2021 G2 ATLAS = A/2021 G2
more info
Comet C/2021 G2 was discovered on 11 April 2021 by ATLAS-MLO (Mauna Loa), that is three years and five months before its perihelion passage.

Comet had its closest approach to the Earth on 15 April 2024 (4.24 au), about five months before its perihelion passage, about 8 months after perihelion (on 1 May 2025) it will approaches the Earth within 4.31 au. So, as in March 2025 the comet is still observed.

The preferred NG solution given here is based on pre-perihelion data span over 3.80 yr in a range of heliocentric distances from 10.98 au to 4.98 au.

This Oort spike comet suffers small planetary perturbations during its passage through the planetary system that likely lead to escape the comet from the planetary zone on a hyperbolic orbit.

Time distribution of positional observations with corresponding heliocentric (red curve) and geocentric (green curve) distance at which they were taken. The horizontal dotted line shows the perihelion distance for a given comet whereas vertical dotted line — the moment of perihelion passage.
Six 2D-projections of the 6D space of original swarm including 5001 VCs. Each density map is given in logarithmic scale presented on the right in the individual panel.
